This is a top-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth ivory (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is naturally dense and solid, despite one small crack. The diameter of one cross-cut section is larger than of the other. Please carefully look at the pictures for precise dimensions. The piece displays its original, natural ivory tone.
Geological Epoch: Pleistocene Age: Over 10,000 years Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Siberia
This white round mammoth ivory segment is natural and untreated. It is not stabilized or epoxy-filled. All of our pieces are unique in colour, structure, and shape due to fossilisation processes and long-term climatic conditions of the Siberian permafrost. No artificial treatments or restorations have been performed unless specifically stated.
