This is an immaculate piece of Siberian woolly mammoth bark (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is naturally dense and solid, without cracks. Tapered width and thickness with reserves on both ends: One cross-cut section is slightly thicker and narrower than the other. Please carefully look at the pictures for precise dimensions. The natural colour of the bark is a mix of beige, brown and blue.
Geological Epoch: Pleistocene
Age: Over 10,000 years
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Siberia
This mutli-coloured mammoth bark is natural and untreated. It is not stabilized or resin-filled. All of our pieces are unique in colour, structure, and shape due to fossilisation processes and long-term climatic conditions of the Siberian permafrost. No artificial treatments or restorations have been performed unless specifically stated.
