Multicoloured mammoth bark
Multicoloured mammoth bark
This is a premium-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth bark (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is naturally dense and solid, without cracks. Tapered width and thickness with reserves on both ends: One cross-cut section is slightly thicker and wider than the other. One side of this piece was cut at an angle - please carefully look at the pictures for precise dimensions. The natural colour of the bark is a mix of brown, yellow and grey.
Geological Epoch: Pleistocene
Age: Over 10,000 years
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Siberia
This multicoloured mammoth bark is completely natural and untreated. It is not stabilized or resin-filled. All of our pieces are unique in color, structure, and shape due to fossilization processes and long-term climatic conditions of the Siberian permafrost. No artificial treatments or restorations have been performed unless specifically stated.
