Carved woolly mammoth figurine

Hand-carved woolly mammoth figurine in fossil mammoth ivory (Mammuthus primigenius), sculpted from a single solid piece of stabilized Siberian ivory. Brown and cream ivory tones run through the natural grain, while the curved tusks were carved separately and set into the skull. Fine hand-worked coat texture and a free-standing base give the sculpture a strong natural presence.
