This is a top-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth ivory (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is naturally dense and solid, despite two small cracks. Tapered width and thickness with reserves on both ends: One cross-cut section is wider and thicker than the other. Please carefully look at the pictures for precise dimensions. This piece displays its original, natural ivory tone.
Geological Epoch: Pleistocene Age: Over 10,000 years Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Siberia
This white mammoth ivory segment is natural and untreated. It is not stabilized or epoxy-filled. All of our pieces are unique in color, structure, and shape due to fossilization processes and long-term climatic conditions of the Siberian permafrost. No artificial treatments or restorations have been performed unless specifically stated.
