This is an immaculate piece of Siberian woolly mammoth bark (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is naturally dense and solid, without cracks. Consistent width and thickness with reserves on both ends. The natural colour of the bark is a mix of brown, cream and black.
Geological Epoch: Pleistocene Age: Over 10,000 years Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Siberia
This multicoloured mammoth bark is natural and untreated. It is not stabilized or epoxy-filled. All of our pieces are unique in colour, structure, and shape due to fossilization processes and long-term climatic conditions of the Siberian permafrost. No artificial treatments or restorations have been performed unless specifically stated.
