This is a top-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth bark (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is naturally dense and solid, despite one small crack. One cross-cut section is wider then the other, because one side was cut at an angle. Consistent thickness with reserves on both ends. Please carefully look at the pictures for precise dimensions. The natural colour of the bark is white-brown.
Geological Epoch: Pleistocene
Age: Over 10,000 years
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Siberia
This white-brown mammoth bark is natural and untreated. It is not stabilized or resin-filled. All of our pieces are unique in colour, structure, and shape due to fossilization processes and long-term climatic conditions of the Siberian permafrost. No artificial treatments or restorations have been performed unless specifically stated.
