This is a top-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth bark (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is naturally dense and solid, without cracks. There is one tiny, non-penetrating fissure on the edge of the narrower cross-cut section. Consistent thickness with reserves on both ends. The natural colour of the bark is a mix of beige, orange and white.
Geological Epoch: Pleistocene
Age: Over 10,000 years
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Siberia
This multi-coloured mammoth bark is natural and untreated. It is not stabilized or resin-filled. All of our pieces are unique in colour, structure, and shape due to fossilization processes and long-term climatic conditions of the Siberian permafrost. No artificial treatments or restorations have been performed unless specifically stated.
