This is a top-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth bark (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid despite some tiny, non-penetrating fissures. One cross-cut section is slightly wider than the other, because the end of one side was cut at an angle. Consistent thickness with reserves on both ends. Please carefully look at the pictures for precise dimensions. The colour of the bark is caramel-grey.
Geological epoch: Pleistocene.
Age: Over 10,000 years.
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
