This is a premium-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth bark (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is naturally dense and solid, despite one tiny, non-penetrating crack on the thicker (and narrower) cross-cut section. Reserves on both ends. Please carefully look at the pictures for precise dimensions. The natural colour of the brown-orange.
Geological Epoch: Pleistocene
Age: Over 10,000 years
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Siberia
This brown-orange mammoth bark is completely natural and untreated. It is not stabilized or resin-filled. All of our pieces are unique in colour, structure, and shape due to fossilisation processes and long-term climatic conditions of the Siberian permafrost. No artificial treatments or restorations have been performed unless specifically stated.
