Brown-black mammoth bark
Brown-black mammoth bark
This is a premium-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth bark (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is naturally dense and solid, despite some small cracks. Tapered width and thickness with usable reserves on both ends: One cross-cut section is thicker and wider than the other. This piece was cut at an angle - please carefully look at the pictures for precise dimensions. The natural colour of the bark is dark brown overall, with streaks of black and greyish tones.
Geological Epoch: Pleistocene
Age: Over 10,000 years
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Siberia
This brown-black mammoth bark is completely natural and untreated. It is not stabilized or resin-filled. All of our pieces are unique in colour, structure, and shape due to fossilisation processes and long-term climatic conditions of the Siberian permafrost. No artificial treatments or restorations have been performed unless specifically stated.
