This is a top-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth ivory (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid and completely dry. There are a few tiny, non-penetrating fissures. One cross-cut section is slightly thicker than the other. Consistent width with plenty of reserves on both ends. The colour of the ivory is white. The colour of the outer layer of bark is blue.
Geological epoch: Pleistocene.
Age: Over 10,000 years.
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
