This is an immaculate piece of Siberian woolly mammoth ivory (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid, completely dry and without cracks. The little spot in the middle is the centre of a mammoth tusk, the nerve channel. One cross-cut section is slightly wider than the other. Consistent thickness with plenty reserves on both ends. This thick piece is slightly curved - please carefully look at the pictures for precise dimensions. The colour of the ivory is white.
Geological epoch: Pleistocene.
Age: Over 10,000 years.
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
