This is a good-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth ivory (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory of this semicircular offcut is rock-solid despite the small, non-penetrating cracks on the underside and one on the very edge of one cross-cut section. One cross-cut section is wider and thicker than the other. Both ends offer plenty of mammoth ivory reserves. Please carefully look at the pictures for precise dimensions. The colour of the ivory is creamy-white.
Geological epoch: Pleistocene.
Age: Over 10,000 years.
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
This mammoth ivory piece is presented in its natural condition - it is not stabilized and /or injected with resin. Please take note that none of our mammoth ivory is artificially stabilized and / or restored unless explicitly stated.
