This is a good-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth bark (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid despite the non-penetrating crack on the thinner (and narrower) cross-cut section. This piece is curved - please carefully look at the pictures for precise dimensions. The colour of the bark is a mix of white, brown and black.
Geological epoch: Pleistocene.
Age: Over 10,000 years.
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
This piece is presented in its natural condition - it is not stabilized and/or injected with resin. Please take note that none of our mammoth ivory is artificially stabilized and/or restored unless explicitly stated.
