This is a good-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth bark (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid despite a small, non-penetrating crack on the edge of one cross-cut section. One side is slightly wider than the other. Consistent thickness with reserves on both ends. Please carefully look at the pictures for precise dimensions. The colour of the bark is a beautiful orange.
Geological epoch: Pleistocene.
Age: Over 10,000 years.
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
This mammoth bark piece is presented in its natural condition - it is not stabilized and /or injected with resin. Please take note that none of our mammoth ivory is artificially stabilized and / or restored unless explicitly stated.
