This is a large and heavy vase turned out of a huge Siberian woolly mammoth tusk cross-cut section (Mammuthus primigenius). This vase is well over 40 years old and it was turned by an unknown artisan from the far-eastern UdSSR. The colour of the ivory is white.
The diameter at the base is 14 cm | 5.51 in.
The diameter at the top is 7.5 cm | 2.95 in.
Geological epoch: Pleistocene.
Age: Over 10,000 years.
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
This piece is presented in its natural condition - it is not stabilized and /or injected with resin. Please take note that none of our mammoth ivory is artificially stabilized and / or restored unless explicitly stated.
