This is a semicircular piece of Siberian woolly mammoth ivory (Mammuthus primigenius). Despite the few cracks, this piece offers plenty of good-quality ivory material to work with. The underside is almost completely flat. Consistent thickness and width with reserves on both ends. The colour of the bark is brown.
Geological epoch: Pleistocene.
Age: Over 10,000 years.
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
