This is an immaculate piece of Siberian woolly mammoth bark (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid without cracks. The side of this piece was cut under a slight angle. As a result, one cross-cut section is slightly narrower than the other. Further, the narrower cross-cut section is also thinner than the other. Please carefully look at the pictures for precise dimensions. The colour of the bark is a stunning green-brown.
Geological epoch: Pleistocene.
Age: Over 10,000 years.
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
This mammoth bark piece is presented in its natural condition - it is not stabilized and /or injected with resin. Please take note that none of our mammoth ivory is artificially stabilized and / or restored unless explicitly stated.
