Natural mammoth ivory scales

This is a top-quality pair of Siberian woolly mammoth bark scales (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid despite the tiny, non-penetrating fissures. Consistent width, thickness and length with reserves on both ends. The colour of the bark is brown-caramel.

Geological epoch: Pleistocene.

Age: Over 10,000 years.

Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
