Natural mammoth bark

This is a top-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth bark (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid despite some small cracks. One cross-cut section is slightly wider than the other, because one side was cut at an angle. Consistent thickness with reserves on both ends. The colour of the bark is a mix of green, blue, beige and brown.

Geological epoch: Pleistocene.

Age: Over 10,000 years.

Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
