This is a top-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth ivory (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid despite some tiny, non-penetrating fissures on the thicker cross-cut section. Consistent width with plenty of reserves on both ends. The colour of the ivory is beige.
Geological epoch: Pleistocene.
Age: Over 10,000 years.
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
