White mammoth ivory segment

This is an immaculate piece of Siberian woolly mammoth ivory (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid, completely dry and without cracks. One cross-cut section is wider than the other, because one side was cut at an angle. Consistent thickness with reserves on both ends. The colour of the ivory is white.

Geological epoch: Pleistocene.

Age: Over 10,000 years.

Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
