This is a top-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth bark (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid without cracks. There are a few non-penetrating fissures. One cross-cut section is narrower than the other, because one side was cut at an angle. Consistent thickness with reserves on both ends. Please carefully look at the pictures for precise dimensions. The colour of the bark is brown-beige.
Geological epoch: Pleistocene.
Age: Over 10,000 years.
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
This brown-beige mammoth bark is not stabilised and / or filled with epoxy. Please note that none of our mammoth ivory is artificially stabilised and / or restored unless explicitly stated.
