This is a top-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth ivory (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid and completely dry. There are some small cracks. One cross-cut section is slightly wider than the other. Consistent thickness with plenty of reserves on both ends. The colour of the ivory is white. The colour of the outer layer of bark is beige with some thin grey stripes.
Geological epoch: Pleistocene.
Age: Over 10,000 years.
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
