Round mammoth tusk piece

This is a top-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth ivory (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid despite some small cracks. One cross-cut section is larger than the other. The colour of the ivory is beige. The colour of the outer layer of bark is blue.

Geological epoch: Pleistocene.

Age: Over 10,000 years.

Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
