Blue-brown mammoth bark

This is a top-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth bark (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid without cracks. One cross-cut section is narrower than the other, because the end of one side was cut at an angle. Consistent thickness with reserves on both ends. The colour of the bark is blue-brown.

Geological epoch: Pleistocene.

Age: Over 10,000 years.

Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
