This is a top-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth ivory (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid and completely dry. There are a few tiny, non-penetrating fissures on the slightly wider cross-cut section. Consistent thickness with reserves on both ends. The colour of the ivory is white. The colour of the outer layer of bark is beige.
Geological epoch: Pleistocene.
Age: Over 10,000 years.
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
