This is a top-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth bark (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid despite some small cracks on the narrower cross-cut section. Consistent thickness with reserves on both ends. The colour of the bark is beige-brown with some blue patches.
Geological epoch: Pleistocene.
Age: Over 10,000 years.
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
