Natural mammoth tusk piece

This is a top-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth ivory (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid despite one small crack on the larger cross-cut section. Reserves on both ends. The colour of the ivory is white. The colour of the outer layer of bark is a mix of brown and beige.

Geological epoch: Pleistocene.

Age: Over 10,000 years.

Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
