This is a top-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth bark (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid despite some small, non-penetrating fissures on the underside. One cross-cut section is thicker than the other. Consistent width with reserves on both ends. The colour of the bark is brown-beige.
Geological epoch: Pleistocene.
Age: Over 10,000 years.
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
