Natural mammoth ivory piece

This is a top-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth ivory (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory is rock-solid and completely dry. There are some small cracks. One cross-cut section is slightly wider and thicker than the other. Plenty of reserves on both ends. The underside is almost completely flat. The colour of the ivory is white. The colour of the outer layer of bark is brown.

Geological epoch: Pleistocene.

Age: Over 10,000 years.

Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
